Martin Merritt is a 37-year Health Lawyer and founder of Martin Merritt PLLC, a Dallas Health Law and Healthcare Litigation Boutique and a nationally recognized author and lecturer. Martin has been featured in D Magazine as a Best Lawyer in Dallas for 2024 and has been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer for 2024 and a Best Lawyer In America for 2025, having been elected by his peers.
Martin was President of the Texas Health Lawyers Association for 2023 and has served as its Executive Director since 2013. Martin has been elected to serve as Chairman of the Dallas Bar Association Health Law Section for 2020. He has served as Special Disciplinary Counsel for the Texas Commission for Lawyer Discipline, and serves as outside general counsel to small and large healthcare groups with earnings from a few hundred thousand to several hundred million dollars. Martin is one of the very few healthcare fraud, waste and abuse, transactional and healthcare litigation attorneys in Texas.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Erna serves as the Executive Manager at Martin Merritt, PPLC. Erna is responsible for client account management, managing vender accounts, advertising and marketing administration, and the smooth operation of the firm.
Prior to joining the firm, Erna earned real estate licenses in both Iceland and the United States as a top realtor in each country.
Alia Merritt 2-L Law Student Intern
Alia is a second-year law student at Ole Miss Law School and will receive her law degree in 2026, which is exactly 40 years after her father received his law degree from Ole Miss. Alia assists with legal research and legal writing, pleadings preparation, discovery and contract drafting and review.
Zachary Merritt Audio-Visual and Social Media Director
Zachary holds an associate’s degree in Radio, Television and Film from ACC and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Dallas. Zachary is the firm’s Audio Visual and Social Media expert.
